The Sun

The sun is the center of the solar system. All planets orbit the sun. the sun gives us heat. The sun is critical to the world. Plants need the sun for survival. Plants suck up water through its roots they also absorb carbon dioxide. Then they absorb sunlight. The sunlight mixes with the water and carbon dioxide witch provides the plant with food if we didn't have the sun everything would die.

Our Sense of taste

different areas of your mouth and made a little diagram to show the different sections of taste bWe did a project on the sense of taste and hade a lot of fun in the making. We wrote facts about the uds.

The section at the back is the bitter so it detects foods like lemons and limes. The two sections at the sides next to the bitter taste buds is the sour taste buds. They detect foods like fizzy sweets

Then there is the salty sections of taste buds that detect foods like olives. Now we have the sweet taste buds that are located at the front of your tongue and they detect foods like apples. Finally there is the umami section of taste bud that detects foods like cheese.

Science Week carbon dioxide

This our carbon dioxide project. We got a glass and put backing soda and vinegar and it went in creamy suds that was quitefun when it exploded so we thoroughly enjoyed it . Maith sibh!

Science Week lava lamps

The infants room made lava lamps for science week. They had a jar and then they added oil to the jar and coloured water so it would rise up. They then added food coloring for some colors. They found it very exciting to watch the lava like liquid rise up

This is one table adding oil to the cup

here they are watching the coloring move around in the oil

Here they are watching the oil mix with the coloured water

Science week Chromatography

Science week design and make a windmill

We got the idea of the windmills from Dream Space . There were two girls from Microsoft and they were making wind mills . They challenged us to make our own windmill so we did . Everybody had different windmills .The materials we used were paper cups , plastic cups, close pegs, card, sqewers , lolipop sticks ,pipe cleaners , straws , wooden knifes , tape  and pom poms to decorate . When we were done building our windmills We went outside to test if they worked some of them did and some didn't.  They were really fun to make .
