Digging Potatoes

We went to a local farmer who let us dig some potatoes. We were separated into pods of three two and four. We got a pike for every pod we filled about four fish boxes. At the end we went picking a couple of turnips each. The farmer then gave each of us a bag and we filled it up with potatoes. Then we got to take them home with us for dinner. They were delicious.

  We walked as a group to the potato drills. We had a shovel to dig the potatoes with and  buckets to put the potatoes into. There was a  lot of drills.   

  

 Anna, Robyn and Jacob found a massive  potato which was covered in                                                     earth.

                                 

  Owen and Harry are lifting a big box of potatoes.

There are many varieties, such as ,golden wonders, kerr pinks, British queens and roosters.

 

When we finished the digging we were allowed to  take the potatoes home for our dinner .They tasted lovely they were dry and floury.

 

  These potatoes were so heavy that i hurt my back lifting a bag of them.

 We loved The potato 🥔 digging it was very fun and we all got stuck in.

They were also very very tasty!
